When visiting the Von Humboldt I realized how different it was from other schools that were closed down. Von Humboldt was not boarded up and didn’t seem as overgrown as other locations. I was saddened by the fact that a school placed in such a beautiful neighborhood was closed down. The school had two playgrounds and it was nice to see that one of them was in use at the time that we were present. Nathaniel Pope was also present in a beautiful neighborhood. There was a large park that was full of trees and had people present at the playground. I felt perplexed. Why would this be one of the closed schools? Overall I found the differences in the school interesting and saddening.
